Hayley sat outside of Tabu, the hottest club in Orlando. She was waiting for her brother, Brian, and his girlfriend, Leighanne, to show up. She hadnt seen Brian in eight years because he was so busy touring with his group, the Backstreet Boys. But they kept in touch through letters and phone calls.
Hayley! Brian called. She looked up and saw him and she got up and ran to him and jumped into his arms.
Brian, hey, I missed you so much! Hayley said.
I missed you, too, this is Leighanne, Brian said.
Hi, Leighanne, its nice to meet you, Hayley said.
You too, I have heard so much about you, Brian talks about you all the time, so how was Europe, Brian told me you have been studying over there for eight years, Leighanne said.
It was wonderful, and Brian, I have caught all the shows over there, Hayley said.
Why didnt you come back to see me backstage, Brian said.
I didnt have a backstage pass and I didnt think anyone would let me back there if I just said I was your sister, Hayley said. Brian hugged her.
Next time, tell them you are my sister and show your ID, Brian said.
Okay, okay, but since I have nothing else to do, can I live with you? Hayley asked.
Sis, you know you can, Brian said.
So, can I meet the guys? Hayley asked.
Sure, come on, Brian said. They went in and saw the guys sitting in a booth in the corner of the VIP section. Kevin looked up as they approached the table.
Hey Kev, look who I found, Brian said. Kevin got up and Hayley jumped into Kevins arms and hugged him tight.
Hey cuz! Hayley said. Howie, AJ, and Nick looked at each other.
Gosh, girl, you have grown up, I have missed you so much, how was Europe? Kevin said.
It was awesome, but Im glad to be home, Hayley said.
So, do you have a place? Kevin asked.
Yeah, Im moving in with Brian, Hayley said.
Guys, this is Hayley, my little sister, shes been in Europe for the past eight years, sis, this is Howie, AJ, and Nick, Brian said. She shook their hands and sat down.
Hey, if you were in Europe, how come you didnt come to the shows we had over there, Kevin said.
I went to the shows, just didnt get backstage passes, Hayley said. Kevin rolled his eyes.
Cuz, next time, just say you are Brians sister, and my cousin, and show them ID, Kevin said.
Well, I thought now that Im with you guys, I wouldnt need to do that, just have a VIP pass and I can do anything and go anywhere, or I can work for you guys, as part of the road crew or something, Hayley said.
No way is my sister going to be on the road crew, Brian said. Hayley looked at him.
Im tough, Brian, remember how many times I kicked your butt, Hayley said.
Yeah, Brian, remember how she beat you up so many times that you were sore for weeks, Kevin said.
I remember, but Hayley, how about just spending time with me and Kevin, we havent seen you for eight years, Brian said.
Okay, so whats to drink? Hayley asked.
Anything you want, Brian said. A waitress came over and the guys ordered drinks. Leighanne ordered water. Hayley looked at the drink menu. She ordered a vodka martini. Brian looked at her and she looked at him.
What, Hayley said.
Hayley, when did you start drinking? Brian asked.
When I turned 21, duh, Hayley said.
Why are you drinking? Brian asked.
Because I want to, okay, Im not an alcoholic, okay, Hayley said. Brian nodded.
Two hours later, Hayley was drunk and dancing with AJ who was also drunk. Kevin had gone home. Howie was in his office going over paperwork. Nick, Brian, and Leighanne sat in the booth.
Shell have a hangover in the morning, Brian said.
Frick, do you want me to take her home with me, I know how to deal with hangovers, Nick said.
Sure, man, just bring her over to my house tomorrow, after she starts feeling better, Brian said.
Okay, Nick said getting up. He went over to Hayley and AJ.
Hey you two, time to go, Nick said.
Its just getting fun, Hayley said.
Hey AJ, Brian wants to talk to you about something, something about music, Nick said. AJ walked over to Brian.
Hey, well, how would you like to dance, Hayley said.
How would you like to go home, and dance for me privately, Nick said.
Now theres an idea, Hayley said. He led her out of the club and took her to his house. She went in and started dancing around.
Arent you sleepy at all? Nick asked locking up.
Nope, I feel as light as a feather, Hayley said. She came over and pulled him close and tried to get him to dance.
Time for bed, Hayley, Nick said. She grinned.
Goody, your bed or mine, Hayley said.
You in your bed, me in my bed, come on, Nick said. They went upstairs and he made up the spare bedroom. Once done, he turned and she jumped on him and they landed on the bed.
Hayley, Nick said.
You are so sexy, Nicky, you are really sexy, Hayley said kissing his neck.
Hayley, no, Nick said. She sat up and pulled off her shirt and bra. He looked at her.
Nicky, please, I want to make love, please, be my first, please, Hayley said. His eyes widened.
Hayley, you are drunk and dont know what you are doing, Nick said. He tried to get up but she held his arms down.
I know exactly what Im doing, I fell for you the moment I laid eyes on you, Hayley said licking his neck.
Hayley, we cant, its not right, your brother will kill me, Nick said.
Ill take the blame, Nick, just say I seduced you, which is what Im doing, Hayley said. Nick looked at her.

Chapter 2

Nick rolled her beneath him and kissed her deeply. She pulled off his shirt and ran her hands over his chest. She removed his pants and boxers and he pulled her pants and panties off and he slowly and gently made love to her. Afterwards, they went to sleep holding each other. The next morning, Nick woke up and saw that he was alone. He got up and got dressed and went looking for Hayley and couldnt find her. The front door opened and close.
Nick came downstairs and saw Brian.
Hey Frack, is Hayley up? Brian asked.
I cant find her, I was wondering how she was feeling, I looked all over and cant find her, Nick said.
Where could she have gone, did you try the beach? Brian asked. They ran out and went to the beach to look around. They came back. Nick sat down and he saw a note. He picked it up and read it. Nick, Im sorry that I couldnt stay but what happened last night scared me and I had to leave. Thank you for giving me my first time, I will never forget it or you, it was so amazing, you are a great guy and Im glad that Brian had a friend like you,
goodbye, Nick, and thanks again for giving me a night to remember, Hayley.
Nick sat there and read the note over and over again. He sat there in shock. Brian came in and saw the note. He opened it and read it. He looked at Nick.
You slept with my sister! Brian said.
Yeah, she wanted it, she seduced me, Nick said. Brian threw the note down and glared at Nick.
Our friendship is over, Brian said. He walked out the door. Nick sat there.
The next few days, Brian got Kevin, Howie, and AJ together and told them what was going on. They couldnt believe it. They decided not to speak to Nick or hang out with him. Nick tried calling the guys but got their voice mail. He would leave a message but none of them would call back. Nick gave up and went for a walk on the beach. He knew Brian hated him for sleeping
with Hayley and figured out that he would turn the other guys against him. He sat down on the sand and stared out at the ocean. He heard laughing and looked and saw Howie, AJ, Kevin, and Brian walking down the beach talking and laughing. They walked past him like they didnt even see him. Nick felt like an outcast. No one wanted to talk to him. He tried calling his family but no one was home and he probably figured Brian got to them, too. He felt so alone. He walked back to his house and closed the door and sat down on the couch and turned on the TV. He saw a press conference and saw the other guys on there.
There has been a change, Nick is no longer part of the Backstreet Boys, us four will go on as a group, just the four of us, we felt a change needed to be made, Nick has the talent to go on by himself, he can be successful without us, Brian said. Nick turned off the TV. He felt that his world has ended. The doorbell rang. He sat there and didnt move.
Nick, its Kevin! Kevin called. Nick didnt bother to move. He heard the door open and close and Kevin came in and saw him.
I saw the press conference, dont need to tell me, you guys hate me, you guys would believe anything Brian says, no one wants me, so why bother being here, Im a nobody, no one wants anything to do with me, so go away, Nick said.
I just wanted to tell you that Jive signed you on as a solo artist, after I talked to them, Kevin said.
Gee, thanks, but I have no reason to continue singing, I mean, being in the group made me feel loved, and made me feel special, you guys kicked me out, and now I dont know what to think anymore, why bother singing, why bother doing anything, Nick said. Kevin stood there.
Its your loss, Kevin said. He walked out the door. Nick closed his eyes and tears ran down his cheeks.

Chapter 3

Three months went by. Nick sat out on his boat staring up at the stars. He drove back to the dock and got off and went to his truck and went home. He walked up to the door and saw Barry from Jive Records standing there.
Nick, how are you, Barry said.
Trying to get on with my life, Nick said.
Im sure Kevin told you about getting you signed with us as a solo artist, Im here to finalize the deal, Barry said.
Barry, Im not sure of what I want to do, Nick said.
Nick, you have what it takes, you could make it, Barry said. Nick looked at him and thought about it.
All right, Ill give it a shot, Nick said.
A year went by and Nicks first solo CD was out and selling like hot cakes. He already had two videos and the second one was on TRL. He didnt know the guys were watching. He was performing on Regis and Kelly. The guys were watching it. Kevin turned it off after Nick was done and the show was over.
Wow, AJ said.
Guys, we made a mistake, Brian, I know you hate Nick, but he was a part of the group, whatever problems you have with him, it was personal, shouldnt have came into the group, Kevin said.
I know that now, but hes successful, happy, Brian said.
Lets make him happier, AJ said. They went to New York to find Nick. They found the hotel he was at and went to his suite. They knocked on the door. The door opened and Hayley stood there. She saw them.
Hayley, Brian said. She looked six months pregnant.
Hey, come in, you guys, Hayley said. They went in and saw Nick sitting on the couch with his head in his hands.
Nick, AJ said. He looked up and saw them.
Hayley, whats going on, are you pregnant? Brian asked.
Yeah, and its Nicks baby, I came back to find him and tell him that hes going to be a father, and to be here with him, because I want to do the right thing, Hayley said.
And whats that, Brian said.
Were getting married, tonight, Hayley said.
Hayley, Brian said.
Mom and Dad know, they are coming, and they are glad that Im marrying the father of my child, they have known where I was the whole time I was gone, Hayley said.
Then I guess you two are getting married, and Nick, we know you are a solo artist now, but how about coming back to the group, Brian said. Nick looked at him.
You seriously want me to come back, Nick said.
Yes, all of us want you back in the group, we miss you, especially me, I miss my Frack, Brian said. Nick got up and came over to them and hugged Brian.
Thanks, guys, I really want to be in the group again, Nick said. Brian smiled.
Really, Frack? Brian asked.
Yeah, I miss you guys, Nick said. They did a group hug. That night, they were at the courthouse. Jackie and Harold arrived with Harold JR. Nick and Hayley were married by the justice of the peace. They went back to Nicks suite to celebrate.
