Im talking about Ryan Garrison, he came to me confessing that you made out with him today after school, Mark said.
I never made out with any of my students, Mark, Brizee said.
I came here after school, Mark, I listened to everything, Ryan is in love with my wife, she told him it was wrong and told him to leave and rethink his feelings because nothing could happen, I heard everything, Mark, you know I never lie, Kevin said.
Lets go talk to Mr. Garrison again, Mark said. They left. Brizee rested her forehead against him.
I cant believe this, Brizee said.
I know you wouldnt do anything like that, baby, Kevin said. She hugged him tight.
I would never do anything to jeopardize my marriage or my job, Brizee said. Mark came back in.
You were right, Brizee, he admitted that he was lying, he was hurt because you rejected him, we got him to understand that it was wrong to fall for a teacher, Mark said.

Lets go home, baby, Kevin said. She got her stuff and locked up her classroom and held his hand as they walked down the hall and out to his car and went home. They went inside and he locked the door and he picked her up and carried her up to their room and put her down.

You never will, Kevin said. The doorbell rang. Kevin groaned and got up and got dressed. Brizee got dressed and they went downstairs and Kevin opened the door. Two cops stood there with Mark.

Ryan is claiming that he was sexually assaulted by your wife, Mark said.
What! Brizee said coming to the door.
Mrs. Richardson, could you please come down the station, one cop said.
My wife aint going anywhere, this is all a lie, my wife didnt do
anything wrong, she is innocent, hes mad because she rejected him, Kevin said.
Kevin, Brizee said.

No, it isnt true, I would never do anything with my students, Brizee said.
She isnt going, Kevin said.
We have a video of them two in her classroom, doing it on her desk, the other cop said.

Mrs. Richardson, please come with us, the other cop said.

Mrs. Richardson, the cop said. She looked at Kevin and stepped out and left with the cops. Mark looked at Kevin.
We just need her to look at the video and prove it aint her in front of Ryan, I know it aint her, we just need to prove it, Mark said. Kevin looked at him.
My wife loves me, Mark, she would never do anything to hurt me, Kevin said. He slammed the door.

Chapter 2

Kevin went down to the police station to see about his wife and saw Ryan sitting there. He walked over.
So you lied about everything, the officer said.
Yes, I wanted her to pay for rejecting me, Ryan said.
You know why she did, Kevin said. Ryan looked up at him.
Who are you, Ryan said.
Mr. Richardson, as in her husband, Kevin said. Ryans eyes widened.
Uh, look, Im sorry for what I did, but I couldnt help it that I fell for your wife, Ryan said.
But did you have to press phony charges against her, accuse her of something she didnt do, she knows the boundary of teacher/student relationships, she loves her job and she wouldnt do anything to jeopardize that, and she would never do anything to hurt me or our marriage, Kevin said.
I know, Im sorry, Ryan said. Brizee came out and saw Kevin and ran to him. Kevin hugged her tight as Ryan watched.
I love you so much, Brizee said.
I love you, too, baby, Kevin said burying his face in her neck. Brizee hugged him tight and buried her face in his shoulder.
I want to go home, Brizee said.
Come on, Kevin said leading her out. They went home. Once in the door, he picked her up and carried her upstairs to their room and laid her on the bed and they pulled each others clothes off and made love. She rested her head on his chest as he held her close afterwards. The next day, Brizee went back to school and was sitting at her desk when Ryan came in.
Mrs. Richardson, I want to apologize for everything, I realized that my feelings for you werent actually real feelings, the truth is, Im in love with Bethany, Ryan said.

Good, Mark said. He left the room.
Better go get your books for class, Ryan, Brizee said.
Okay! Ryan said as he went out the door. Brizee started writing on the board. She heard voices and she looked and saw Nick and AJ come in.
Hey sis! Nick said kissing her cheek. AJ hugged her.
Hey guys, whats up, Brizee said.
We came to take you shopping! Nick said.
Guys, I have classes to teach today, Brizee said. Ryan came in and took his seat. AJ looked at him.
Who is that? AJ asked.
Thats one of my students, Ryan Garrison, Brizee said.
Is that the one who pressed those phony charges, Nick whispered.
Yeah, but its all good now, hes got a date with another student in this class, Brizee whispered.
Did you actually do anything with him? Nick whispered.

Okay, okay, I know you didnt, Nick said. All the students started filing in and went to their seats.
Guys, you have to go, I have a class to teach, Brizee said.
Mrs. Richardson, are we going to have class today, Bethany said. The class giggled. Brizee looked at Nick and AJ.
Class, this is Nick Carter and AJ McLean, they are here to teach you all about sex education as a celebrity, Brizee said.
What about yesterdays assignment? Bethany asked.
If you did the assignment, throw it away, Brizee said.
Briz, we should go, Nick said.

Its Nicks butt! Bethany said. The whole class laughed. Nick walked out the door. AJ looked at Brizee and walked out after him. Brizee turned around and faced away from the class.
Mrs. Richardson? Bethany asked. Brizee stood up and wrote on the board and sat down. Bethany read it.
Write about safe sex, Bethany read aloud. They got out their notebooks and started writing. Mark came in and saw Brizee sitting in her chair facing away from the class. He went over to her and leaned down.
Hey, you okay? Mark whispered. Brizee shook her head.
No, two of Kevins friends were here, I think I lost them as friends, Brizee whispered.
Ill take over from here, you go on home, see you tomorrow, Mark said.
Brizee got her bag and went out the door. Mark faced the class.
Class, Ill be taking over for Mrs. Richardson for the rest of the day, shell be back tomorrow, Mark said.
Brizee went home and ran up to the bedroom and collapsed on the bed and cried softly.
Baby? Kevin said coming in and sitting on the bed.
Nick and AJ hate me, Brizee said looking at him.
Why, what happened? Kevin asked stroking her back. She told him what happened.
I lost my two best friends, Brizee cried.
Shh, baby, they will get over it, Kevin said.

The next morning, Kevin woke her up. She groaned and laid there.

Then you go! Brizee said. Kevin sighed and got dressed and went out the door and went to school. He went to Marks office and told him the story.

Chapter 3

Kevin was sitting at Brizees desk while the class wrote about unsafe sex when Brian came in.

Well, she is so upset that she didnt go to work, Kevin is teaching her class while she lays in bed and mopes around, Brian said. Nick looked at him.

Because Im in love with her, I fell hard for her, I dont know how or why, but I did, I cant be near her right now, Im scared that I will screw up her and Kevins marriage and thats the last thing I want to do, so I think its best if I stay away until my feelings for her go away, Nick said.

Yeah, I dont know what to think, she was staring at my butt, I think she wants me, too, but I dont want to hurt Kevin, Nick said. Brian sighed.

You need to talk to her about this, staying away wont make the feelings go away, Brian said.

I cant, man, Im scared that I will do something that will screw up her marriage to Kevin, Nick said.

God, fine, but if they head to divorce court, it will be your fault! Nick said as he left. He went to Kevins house and knocked on the door. The door opened and Brizee stood there.

Yeah, well, we need to talk about something else, can I come in, Nick said. Brizee stepped aside. He went in and she closed the door. He sat down. She sat down.

Brizee, I know you are married to Kevin and everything, Im in love with you, I have been for awhile, I wanted to stay away so I could get over my feelings for you, but Brian insisted that I talk to you about them, Nick said.

Nick, I love my husband with everything in me and I dont have those type of feelings for you, Im sorry, Brizee said.

I know that, Briz, I dont want to do anything that will screw up your marriage to him, Nick said.

Nick, I think of you as a brother, and I love you as a brother, but thats all it is, Brizee said.

I just want you to be happy, Briz, and Kevin makes you happy, and you make him happy, Nick said. Brizee smiled and hugged him.

Ill try, Brizee said. Nick hugged her and kissed her cheek and left. Brizee sat down and smiled. Now she needed to talk to AJ. She picked up the phone and dialed AJs number. He answered and they started talking. AJ told her that if she and Nick are friends again, then so are they. They made plans to shop in the near future and hung up. Brizee started cleaning the house. She was dusting when she accidentally knocked off Kevins favorite vase and it shattered into pieces. She stared at it and ran out of the house and ran to Nicks house.

Chapter 4

Brizee pounded on Nicks door. Nick opened it and she ran in. Nick closed the door. He went and saw her curled up on the couch crying. Nick sat down.

Well, you know that vase that Kevin loves, the one he adores and never wants anyone to touch it, Brizee said.

Yeah, it was the one his dad gave him before he died, it used to be his dads grandmothers vase, Nick said.

That one, well, its in a million pieces on the floor by the stand it was on, Brizee said.

I was dusting and accidentally bumped into the stand and it fell off, I ran out of there before he would come home and see it, god, Nicky, Im so scared, hell think I did it on purpose! Brizee said crying. Nick hugged her.

Shh, I know you didnt mean to do it, it was an accident, Ill see if anyone can fix it, Nick said.

I dont think anyone could fix it, Nicky, if someone glues it back together, hell know, god, hell leave me for sure, I cant lose him, Nicky, I love him so much! Brizee said crying. Nick hugged her tight.

Im going over there and see what I can do, you stay here, okay, Nick said. AJ and Brian came in. Nick told them the story. Nick and Brian left for Kevin and Brizees house while AJ stayed with Brizee and held her as she cried.

His father gave him that vase before he died, he was his dads grandmothers vase, you know how much he loved that vase, Brizee said crying.

Baby, its nothing worth ending your marriage over, he loves you to death and would never want to be without you, he told me that, he said no matter what happened, he would never let you go, AJ said. Brizee cried softly.

Briz did, man, it was an accident, she didnt mean to, Nick said. Kevin closed his eyes and opened them.

Shes scared that this will be the end of your marriage, she thinks you will end the marriage because of this, Nick said.

Yeah, man, but it was an accident, Nick said. Kevin nodded and left and went to Nicks house.

Chapter 5

Brizee went out back and sat down and looked out at the ocean. She always loved coming to Nicks house because he lived by the ocean and it was so peaceful. She heard someone come out and she knew who it was.

I was dusting and bumped into the stand and it fell, Brizee said. He sat down next to her.

It was your favorite vase, you would throw a fit if anyone touched it, Brizee said.

Briz, I know you didnt mean to do it, it was an accident, dont even think I blame you because I dont, it was an accident, Kevin said.

You know how much I love you, it was just a vase, you are my wife, I told you that no matter what happened, you wouldnt lose me, Kevin said.

You loved that vase because your dad gave it to you before he died, it was his grandmothers vase, it meant a lot to you, Brizee said.

Not as much as you mean to me, baby, I meant when I said I never want to lose you, I never want to lose you, baby, come home, Kevin said.

No, I dont, I love you, baby, more than life itself, Kevin said. Brizee smiled. They went home and saw Nick and Brian sweeping up the vase.

Ill get it, just put it down by the wall, Kevin said. Nick set the bag down by the wall. Nick hugged Brizee and left. Brian hugged them and followed Nick out the door. Once the door closed, Kevin pulled Brizee close and kissed her deeply.

I want to show you how much I love you, Kevin said picking her up and carrying her upstairs to their room and laid her on the bed and laid on top of her. He got up and closed the door and locked it and got back on top of her. They pulled each others clothes off and he made slow passionate love to her. Afterwards, he laid beside her and held her close.

Chapter 6

Kevin put the last of his bags in the car and shut the trunk. Brizee stood there watching him.

I know, but your mother wants to spend time with you and I have to work, Brizee said.

I know you two dont get along very well, I just dont understand it, you are always nice to her and she doesnt care, Kevin said.

She never wanted me to marry you, she wanted me to call it off and never see you again, Brizee said.

Ill miss you, too, Brizee said. They kissed and Kevin got into his car and drove off. Brizee went inside and sat down.

The next day, she went shopping with Nick and AJ. AJ went off to one store while Nick and Brizee played around in the toy store. Nicks bodyguard, Billy, stood there watching them. That night, they went to Howies club, Tabu, and ordered drinks.

The next morning, Brizee woke up and sat up holding her head. She looked around and saw that she wasnt in her bedroom. She heard a groan and looked and saw Nick lying in bed next to her and he was shirtless. She looked down and saw that she was naked. She quietly got up and got dressed and snuck out the door and went home and went into the house and saw Brian sitting there.

Kevin has been trying to get ahold of you, he called me to go look for you, where have you been, Brian said.

Well, I went shopping with Nick and AJ, then we went to Howies club, and I spent the night at Nicks house, Brizee said.

I woke up naked, last thing I remembered was ordering drinks last night, lots of drinks, Brizee said.

I guess so, I mean, I woke up in bed next to him and he was shirtless, Brizee said going into the bathroom.

I cant believe this, Briz, why did you get drunk in the first place, Brian said.

I dont know, I guess I was feeling sorry for myself, Kevin went to Kentucky to see his mom, he was going to tell her about the vase, you know she doesnt like me, Brizee said.

That is why he cant know, I love him, Brian, he is my life and if he leaves me, I will have no reason to live, Brizee said. The phone rang. Brizee picked it up.

Hello, yes, this is she, hi Dr. Kelly, what, are you sure, yeah, thank you for calling, Brizee said. She hung up and sat down on the bed. Brian looked at her.

What if I have a miscarriage, I mean, Im pregnant, and I drank alcohol, Brizee said.

Kevin really wants to have a baby, if I lose it, it will be my fault, Brizee said.

Call him and tell him you are pregnant, Brian said. She called Kevins mothers house.

Aunt Ann, its Brian, can you put Kevin on the phone, Brian said. Brizee stared at her hands.

Hanging out with Nick and AJ, lost track of time, I crashed at Nicks house, no biggie, Brizee said.

Dr. Kelly just called, Im three weeks pregnant, Kev, Brizee said. She heard Kevin cheer.

Can I talk to Brian? Kevin asked. Brizee handed the phone to Brian and laid down on the bed.

She was drinking last night, Kev, she, Nick, and AJ, went to Tabu, while AJ was talking to Howie, Nick and Briz were drinking, Brian said.

Yeah, he drove so I guess he was sober enough to drive, I guess since he lived closer, it would be easier that way then have to drive her home and then go back, Brian said.

Anyways, shes scared that shell lose the baby because of the alcohol, Brian said.

If she does, we can always try again, its not the end, Kevin said. Brian looked at Brizee who was asleep.

Let her sleep, she needs the rest, Ill be home in a week so take care of her for me, will you? Kevin asked.

Chapter 7

Brian sat on the couch and watched TV while Brizee slept. The doorbell rang. He got up and opened the door and saw Nick standing there.

Hold it, Nick, what do you remember from last night? Brian asked. He knew Nick wouldnt lie to him.

Ordering drinks with Briz, and waking up alone in my bed, naked, something must have happened because I never sleep naked, Nick said.

You and Briz had sex, thats what I think, she never came home last night and when she did, she said she was at your house and she woke up in bed with you and she was naked, Brian said.

Hes in Kentucky, hell be back in a week, she told him she crashed at your house, but her memory of what really happened last night is blurry, so all he knows is that she crashed at your place because your place was closer and that you didnt want to drive far while drunk, Brian said.

You two slept together, I know, I was at your house last night, Briz doesnt know I was there, I watched you two come into the house all over each other and you two went up to your room and pulled each others clothes off and had sex, I heard the moans and cries and the banging of your bed, Brian said.

I cant now, Brizees three weeks pregnant, shes in an emotional state right now, shes scared that shell lose the baby, Brian said.

Oh, Nick said. The phone rang and heard it picked up. A few minutes later, Brizee came downstairs and saw Nick and froze.

That was Dr. Kelly, there was a mistake, Im not pregnant, Brizee said. Brian hugged her.

Oh Briz, Im sorry, better call Kev, Brian said. Brizee sat down and called Kevins mothers house.

Kev, its me, Im fine, Dr. Kelly just called, yeah, there was a mistake, Im not pregnant, yeah, I know, I miss you, okay, bye, Brizee said. She hung up the phone.

Okay, we need to talk about last night, Briz, I was there at Nicks house, because Kevin was worried and I was waiting for Nick to come home so I could find out where you were, Brian said. Brizee looked at Brian.

Hell think I did it and wont care if I was drunk, Brizee said. Brian looked at Nick.

A week later, Brizee sat in her house. The door opened and Kevin came in with his bags. She ran to him and jumped into his arms.

I did something bad, Kev, Brizee said. She sat him down and told him everything. After she was done, she just stared at her hands in her lap.

I shouldnt have gotten drunk, I should have known better, god, Kev, I slept with Nick, okay, I cheated, drunk or not, I cheated! Brizee cried. Kevin took his young wife in his arms and held her as she cried.

Chapter 8

Three months went by. Kevin held Brizee after the doctor called. She was three months pregnant, and he knew it was Nicks child.

We will have to talk to Nick, see if hell let us raise the baby as our own, Kevin said.

They went over to Nicks house. Kevin rang the doorbell. The door opened and Nick stood there.

Hey guys, come on in, Nick said stepping aside. They went in and sat down. Nick sat down.

Briz is pregnant, its yours, and we came over to ask you to let me and Briz raise the child as ours, that means you will have to give up your rights to the child, Kevin said.

Kevin, it should be his choice, if he doesnt want to, thats fine, Brizee said gently.

Im not giving up rights to my child, Kevin, you can be there for my child when Im not there, but Im not going to abandon my child, Nick said.

No, Im not, I want to be the father to this baby, Brizee, but Nick wont let me, Kevin said.

I just want this baby to be yours and mine together, I dont want to share with Nick, Kevin said.

Chapter 9

Brizee sat in the conference room at the school with the other teachers, waiting for the meeting to start. Mark and superintendent came in.

Thank you all for coming into the meeting, well, another school year is about the start, Mark said.

They continued the meeting and after it was over, she went to her room to get it ready for classes. She heard a noise and looked up and saw Nick. He closed the door and locked it.

Kevin arrived at school to see his wife. Mark saw him and came over and held out his hand. Kevin shook it.

That she is expecting, arent you happy, you are going to be a father! Mark said.

Yeah, I am happy, I just got confused on what you meant, yeah, Im happy, very happy, Kevin said smiling.

Brizee went to her room to get it ready for classes, Mark said. Kevin went to her classroom and saw the door shut. He tried to doorknob and found it locked. He knocked.

Okay, honey, Brizee said. Kevin walked off and went out Brizees car and leaned against it. Ten minutes later, Brizee came out and saw him.

So I could get stuff done without anyone bothering me, Brizee said. Kevin kissed her softly.

Yeah, Ill meet you there, Kevin said. He helped her into her car and she drove off. He got into his car and followed her home.

The next day, Kevin went to hang out with Howie and AJ. Brizee went to Nicks house. She rang the doorbell. The door opened and Nick stood there.

Look, I may be having your baby, but Im not going to be your lover, okay, Im married to Kevin, remember him, your bandmate and older brother, I love him with everything in me and I will not leave him for you, okay, Brizee said. He pushed her against the wall.

You liked it, admit it, you liked it, I heard you moaning, you were begging me to come inside you, Nick said.

Chapter 11

Kevin walked up to Nicks door and tried the doorknob. It was locked. He took out the key that Nick gave him and unlocked the door and went in.

Nick! Are you here! Kevin called. He didnt get an answer. He searched the house. He walked to Nicks bedroom and walked in and saw his wife and Nick in bed, naked and making love. He felt his heart drop and he backed out and leaned against the wall. He quietly went downstairs and went out the door and went out to his car and drove off. He wiped his eyes and crossed the intersection and there was a crash and everything went black.

Brizee and Nick were kissing. His hands were all over her body and rested on her stomach.

Our baby, Briz, I cant believe it, Nick said smiling as he leaned down and kissed her stomach. Brizees cell phone rang. She reached down and picked it up and answered it.

Hello, yes, this is Mrs. Richardson, what, what happened, oh my god, Ill be right there, Brizee said. She hung up and got up and got dressed.

Kevin was in a car accident, Brizee said. She ran out the door and got into her car and drove to the hospital. Nick followed her in his car. She parked and went into the hospital and up to the VIP floor. She went to the nurses station.

Hi, Im Brizee Richardson, my husband was brought in, Brizee said as Nick came in.

He was crossing an intersection and a drunk driver ran into him, the drunk driver was killed instantly, the nurse said.

Hes asleep right now, Brizee, you can go in, Dr. Kelly said. Brizee looked at Nick.

Go, Ill call Brian, Howie, and AJ, Nick said. Brizee went to Kevins room and walked in and saw him lying there. She sat down beside his bed and just looked at him.

Chapter 12

Kevin, did you say divorce? Brizee asked.

Yes, I did, Kevin said.

Why? Brizee asked.

I saw you and Nick in bed, I left and got into the car accident, Kevin said.

What?! Brizee said.

I saw you and Nick in his bed, making love! Kevin said.

Oh god, Brizee said.

Yeah, I walked in and saw my wife in bed with one of my bandmates, my little brother! Kevin yelled.

But I love you! Brizee said.

Yeah, right! Kevin said.

I do! Kevin, you have my heart, he seduced me! Brizee said.

Brizee woke up and looked around and saw that she was in her and Kevins bedroom. She looked down and saw her stomach looking normal.

Okay, it was a dream, Brizee said. She got up and went downstairs and saw Nick and AJ watching TV.

Hey girl, why arent you ready to go! AJ said.

Wheres Kevin? Brizee asked.

Hes at his mothers, remember, Nick said.

Oh, right, Brizee said. Nick came over to her.

Hey, you okay? Nick asked.

I just had a weird dream, thats all, it seemed so real, Brizee said. AJ came over.

Do you want to talk about it? AJ asked.

No, its okay, Ill go change, Brizee said. She went upstairs. AJ and Nick looked at each other.

Kevin isnt even gone for a day and she seems lost without him, AJ said.

I know, why didnt she go with him? Nick asked.

Because of work and the fact that his mother doesnt like her, you didnt know that, man, Ann didnt want Kevin to marry Brizee, AJ said.

What is wrong with Ann, she cant realize that her son is happy with Briz, I mean, Briz has always been like a sister to me, and nothing would change that, Nick said.

I know, man, same here, AJ said. Brizee came downstairs.

Im ready, Brizee said. They went to the mall.

Chapter 13

Nick and AJ watched Brizee as she browsed through the store.

I wish Kevin would hurry home, she needs him, bad, Nick said. AJ nodded.

Yeah, I know, AJ said.

I need to talk to you, man, Nick said.

Whats up, AJ said. Nick looked at Brizee.

I had a dream about Briz last night, Nick said.

What was it about? AJ asked.

I dreamt that I was making love to her, that she and I are married and happy, Nick said.

You have got it bad for Kevins wife, AJ said.

Im sorry, hes not available, dont call here again, consider your marriage to my son over, Ann said. She hung up and sat there. She heard the doorbell ring. She got up and opened the door and saw Nick standing there.

Hey, can we talk? Nick asked. She stepped aside and he went in. She closed the door and locked it and went into the living room where Nick sat on the couch. She stood there.

Chapter 14

Brizee went over and sat down on Nicks lap and curled up in his lap. He wrapped his arms around her.

You okay? Nick asked.

No, Brizee said.

Do you want to talk about it? Nick asked.

I called Kevins mothers house, Ann told me that my marriage to Kevin is over and to never call there again, Brizee said. She rested her head on Nicks shoulder.

Ill call, Nick said picking up to the phone and dialing the number.

Ann, this is Nick, how are you, can I talk to Kevin? Nick asked.

Hey Nick, everything okay? Kevin asked getting on the phone.

No, it isnt, is what your mother said true? Nick asked.

What, Kevin said.

Brizee called up there, your mother told her never to call there again and that your marriage to her is over, is that true? Nick asked.

No, I never said that, Kevin said looking at his mother.

Well, your mother told Brizee that and now Briz is upset, Nick said as he watched tears roll down Brizees cheeks.

Dammit, okay, tell Briz Im on my way home, and that I love her and that the marriage isnt over, Kevin said.

All right, bye, Nick said. He hung up.

Well? Brizee asked.

Kevin never said anything about the marriage being over, hes on his way home, Nick said.

About today, Nick, Brizee said.

Yeah, I had a dream last night, that you and I were making love and that we were married and happy, Nick said. Brizee told him about her dream.

The class was working on assignment. She read the letter. It was from her doctor. She was three months pregnant. She smiled. She put the letter in her purse and looked at her class. She folded the door and put it in her special box that Kevin didnt know about.

That night, Brizee told Kevin she was going for a walk and shell be back. She kissed him and left and went to the beach. She walked until she saw Nick at a secluded part of the beach. She walked up to him.

Nick, what do we need to talk about? Brizee asked.

Nick, we cant do anything but be friends, Brizee said.

I know that, Briz, but I cant help it, I dream about you all the time, I dream of making love to you, kissing you, holding you, and I wish it would come true, Nick said.

So our marriage is invalid, Brizee said.

Yeah, and Im leaving because Im still in love with her, Kevin said.

Briz, I have always loved you, and I know I will never stop loving you, she has a baby, Briz, my baby, she was scared to tell me because she didnt want to mess up our lives, Kevin said.

The next day, Brizee sat in the house alone. Brian and Howie came over after Kevin called them but she sent them away. AJ came over and saw her sitting there and sat down and held her as she fell apart in his arms.

Why would he do this, I thought he loved me! Brizee cried.

Briz, he does, but he needed to be with her and their son, AJ said. Brizee rested against him.

I love him so much, AJ, I feel so lost, Brizee said. AJ looked up and saw Nick standing there.

Hey, you have a little one inside you, Briz, AJ said.

I know, but god, I was so happy, Kevin and I having a family, now, that is gone, Im having a baby, and the father and I arent married, never were, Brizee said. She looked up and saw Nick. She looked away.

Yeah, AJ said getting up and he left. Nick sat down.

Kevin told us everything this morning, I cant believe it, Nick said.

This isnt a sign that you can have me, Nick, Brizee said.

We can be happy, we can take it slow, Nick said.

Did you have something to do with this, Brizee said.

No, I didnt, I swear, Nick said.

He didnt have anything to do with it, I did, Kristin said standing at the doorway.

What, Nick said.

I came and told Kevin that I didnt sign the divorce papers, I lied to him saying that I did, Kristin said.

You ruined my life, Brizee said.

You and Kevin were never legally married, I couldnt keep quiet anymore, Kristin said.

Im having his baby, Kristin, we were happy, and you had to come and ruin it, Brizee said.

Hell be there for the baby, Brizee, I will not let him not be there for you and the baby, but he is my husband, and the father of my son, Kristin said.

Just go, Brizee said. Kristin left. Brizee looked at Nick.

Call if you need anything, Nick said. He left. Brizee laid down on the couch and closed her eyes.

Chapter 19

The next day, she arrived at her classroom late. She walked in and saw Nick sitting on her desk talking with the class.

Good morning, Mrs. Richardson, the class said. Nick looked at her and smiled.

Um, class, as of now, no more calling me Mrs. Richardson, call me Ms. Hardin, Brizee said putting her purse in the drawer of her desk.

Why? Ryan asked. Brizee looked at Nick.

Well, she found out the day before yesterday that she and Kevin were never married, his ex never signed the divorce papers and decided to come forward now, so Kevin and Brizee werent legally married so shes back as Ms. Hardin now, Nick said.

Thanks, Nick, I cant really talk about it, Brizee whispered. He smiled at her. Her cell phone rang. She looked at Nick. She went out and answered it.

Mr. Carter, are you helping her teach the class? Bethany asked.

Call me Nick, please, and Ill help if she wants me to, Nick said. Brizee came back in and sat down. Nick looked at her.

Write an essay about what not to do when having sex, Brizee said. Nick went over to her and leaned down.

You okay? Nick asked quietly. She shook her head.

I had another dream last night, that you and I were together, Brizee
said. He pulled her close.

her. She unlocked the door and went in and saw Kevin sitting in the living

Chapter 20

Nick came in behind her and saw him sitting there. Brizee looked at Kevin
and back at Nick.
What are you doing here? Brizee asked.
I came to see how you were doing, Kevin said.
Im fine, moving on, Brizee said.
Hows the baby? Kevin asked.
There is no baby, Dr. Kelly called me on my cell, there was a mistake and
Im not pregnant, Brizee said.
Oh, thanks for calling me, Kevin said.
Well, I was working, Brizee said.
Nick, why are you here, Kevin said.
Hanging out with Briz, Nick said.
Oh, Kevin said.
Please go home to your WIFE, Brizee said. Kevin looked at her and left.
Nick locked and bolted the door and picked her up and carried her upstairs
to her bedroom and closed the door and locked it and laid her on the bed and

Nick woke up and saw Brizee still sleeping. He heard knocking at the front
door and the doorbell ringing. He woke Brizee up. She looked at him.
Someones at the front door, Nick said. Brizee got up and got dressed and
went downstairs and opened the door and saw Kevin standing there. He grabbed
her and pushed her against the wall and kissed her deeply. She pulled back
and looked at him.
What are you doing here, Brizee said.
Kissing my wife, Kristin made up the whole thing, a friend of hers works
at the courthouse and it was all a set up to get me back with Kristin, the
baby isnt mine, and you and I are still married, Kevin said.
Oh god, Brizee said pulling away. Kevin looked at her and he saw movement
at the top of the stairs and he saw Nick standing there in his pants but was
shirtless. Kevin looked at Brizee.
What is going on, Kevin said.
Well, Nick and I got together, Brizee said as Nick came downstairs fully
dressed.
And we had mind blowing sex, Nick said.
I cant believe you, Kevin said.
Hey, I had to move on, you were with Kristin, Brizee said.

Brizee stood there looking at Kevin. He looked at her and got his bags
inside.

We are married, Brizee, Kevin said.
You left, Brizee said.
I thought we werent married, Kevin said.
Still, you left, like you never even loved me, Brizee said.
God, Brizee, I love you more than life itself, I thought I was married to
her, and that her baby was mine, I had to do the right thing, Kevin said.
I know, Im sorry, I think I just broke Nicks heart, Brizee said. Kevin
hugged her.
Itll be okay, baby, hell move on, Kevin said.
I hate this, Brizee said.

The next day, she went to her classroom and sat down. The class came in and
sat down.
Good morning, Ms. Hardin, the class said. Brizee stood up and went around
and leaned against her desk.
Its Mrs. Richardson again, apparently Kevins ex set up the whole thing
so she could get him back, and her son isnt his, so hes back home with
me, Brizee said.
What about Nick? Bethany asked.
Im still married so I cant be with him, Brizee said.
How did he take it? Bethany asked.
Not good, Brizee said sitting on the desk. AJ came in.
Good morning, AJ, the class said. He waved and came over to her.
Nicks missing, AJ whispered.
What? Brizee whispered.
No one can find him, he was suppose to meet Aaron today but never showed,
and hes not home, his boat is at the dock so hes not on it, AJ whispered.
AJ, I cant do anything, Im in the middle of a class and Im still
married to Kevin, Brizee whispered.
Ill take care of the class, you find him, AJ whispered.
I dont know where he is, Brizee whispered. He handed her a letter.
I found this in my mailbox and it said to give to you, AJ whispered. She
opened it and it was a note from Nick.

Brizee looked at AJ and got up and got her purse. She looked at her class.
Class, I have to leave, listen to AJ, okay, Brizee said. She left and
went to the beach.

Chapter 23

Brizee walked down the beach to the secluded area where she and Nick were
before and saw no one there. She looked around and didnt see him. She saw a
note. She picked it up.
Thanks for nothing, dont bother talking to me ever again! Nick
She went back to school and saw her classroom empty and she sat down at her
desk and rested her head in her hands.
Brizee? Mark asked coming in.
Mark, Im sorry for leaving during class, Brizee said.
AJ told me it was a family emergency, its okay, Mark said. She stared at
her desk.
Yeah, Brizee said.
You okay, sweetie, Mark said kneeling down beside her.
My life couldnt get more perfect, I mean, I got my husband back, but lost

Yeah, he and I got together, but then Kevin came back saying that he and I

another note, Brizee said. She handed him the note. He read it.

I dont know what my heart wants, Brizee said.

Kevin came upstairs and into the bedroom and saw her lying there.
Baby, whats wrong? Kevin asked.
Nick doesnt want me talking to him ever again, Brizee said.
Because of yesterday? Kevin asked.

Hell get over it and realize that you cant be with him while you are
married to me, Kevin said. Brizee handed him the note she found at the
beach. Kevin read it and went out the door and went to Nicks house. He
pounded on the door. Nick opened it and saw him. Kevin went inside and Nick
closed the door.
What do you want, Nick said.
I want you to be friends with my wife again, she is over there crying her
eyes out because you wont talk to her, she knows she hurt you, okay, but
you shouldnt let her hurt! Kevin said.
You shouldnt have come back, I was in love with her from the first time I
saw her, but I couldnt do anything because she was with you! I love her
more than anything and I will not let myself go down that road again, Nick
said.
So you are just going to avoid her and think you hate her! Kevin said.

She went to the beach to meet you and all she gets is a note, that hurt

Three weeks later, Brizee found out that she was pregnant. She knew it was
Nicks because she and Kevin havent made love since he came back. She went
to Nicks house and rang the doorbell. The door opened and a girl stood
there in a robe.

Hes asleep right now, come back some other time, the girl said closing
the door. Brizee went to the beach and sat there. She got up and went to the
secluded spot where she and Nick was before and sat there. She laid down on
the sand and closed her eyes. She opened her eyes and saw Nick standing over
her. She sat up and brushed the sand off of her. She looked at him.
Whos the new girl? Brizee asked.
That was Mandy, Nick said.
Having fun? Brizee asked.
Id rather be with you, we could be together right now, Nick said. Brizee
looked away.
Yeah, well, I wanted that too, but Im married and Kevin wont let me go,
and I still love him, Brizee said.
Yeah, well, it was good while it lasted, Nick said.
Nick, I dont want to lose you as a friend, Brizee said.
I cant be your friend, not now, maybe not ever, Nick said.
Nick, please! Brizee said.
Im sorry, Nick said. He started to walk off.
Im pregnant with your child! Brizee called after him. He stopped and
turned and looked at her.
What? Nick asked coming back towards her.
Im pregnant with your child, Nick, I know its yours because Kevin and I
havent made love or anything since before he left to go with Kristin, Im
three weeks along, I conceived the last time we were together, Brizee said.
What does Kevin think? Nick asked.
He wanted you to know about the baby, he wants you to be the father and be
there for me, Brizee said.
The only way Ill be there for you and the baby is if you be my wife,
Nick said. Brizee looked at him.

Chapter 25

Nick, I cant leave him, Brizee said.
Then good luck with the baby, Nick said. He walked off. Brizee stood
there.
Three months later, Brizee was four months along and alone. Kevin decided to
file for a divorce to let her have the chance to be with Nick and have a
family. But Nick wouldnt return her calls and was never home. She called AJ
and asked him to come over. He came over.
Hey girl, AJ said.
AJ, where is Nick? Brizee asked.
I dont know, honestly, I dont know, AJ said.
I want to be with him, AJ, I guess its too late, Brizee said.
If I hear from him, Ill talk to him and let you know, okay, AJ said.
Thanks, AJ, Brizee said. He hugged her and left. She sat there rubbing
her stomach. AJ came back.
Hes with Mandy, they are a couple and he is over you, he said good luck
with the baby and wishes you the best, but he cant talk or see you again,
AJ said.
Did you tell him about Kevin divorcing me so I could be with him? Brizee
asked.
Yeah, he said it was too late, he has moved on, AJ said.
Thanks, AJ, Brizee said. AJ hugged her and left. She laid down on the
couch and started to cry. Brian came in.
Hey, AJ told me what happened, Brian said.
Why am I a bad person, Brizee said.
You arent, Briz, Brian said.
I am, I lost Nick, Kevin left me, Im alone, Brizee said.
Hey, Im here for you, and AJ, and Howie, hey, I met a girl, her name is
Michelle, we are going out tonight, but if you need anything, just call,
okay, Brian said.
Thanks, Brizee said. Brian hugged her and left. She got up and went out
to the beach and sat down in the sand and stared at the ocean. Tears fell
down her cheeks.
Excuse me, are you okay? a voice asked. She looked up and saw Aaron.
Hi Aaron, Brizee said.
Hi Brizee, how are you, Aaron said.
Im okay, I guess, Brizee said.
Are you pregnant? Aaron asked.
Yeah, with your niece or nephew, Brizee said.
Its Nicks baby? Aaron asked.
Yeah, he didnt tell you? Brizee said.
No, he didnt, I know hes dating a girl named Mandy and they are happy,
Aaron said.
Yeah, well, its a long story and I dont want to talk about it, but Im
having his baby, Brizee said.
Leave my brother alone, Nick said coming up to them.
He came up to me, Nick, Brizee said getting up
Shes nice, Nick, how could you let her go, pregnant with your baby,
Aaron said.
Shes married to Kevin, Nick said.
Not anymore, Nick, he filed for a divorce, so you can be with Brizee and
be a family, Brian said coming up to them with AJ, Kevin, and Howie behind
him.
Yeah, Nick, this baby deserves to have its father and mother together,
Kevin said.
But you walked away from it, it was like you didnt want it, AJ said.
We are here to tell you what you need to do, Howie said.
You need to be there for your child, and Briz, she wants to be with you,
Brian said.
Its too late, guys, Nick said.
Nick, you always told me that if I got someone pregnant, to never abandon
her or the child, now here you are, you are doing what you told me not to
do, you are abandoning your child, and Brizee, Aaron said.
And you know Aaron looks up to you, AJ said.
Leave me alone, all of you! Nick yelled. He ran down the beach.

Chapter 26

Brizee stood there watching Nick run down the beach. She looked at the guys.
Screw him, I dont need him, Brizee said walking to her house and she
went in. Kevin followed her.
Are you sure you are okay? Kevin asked. She stood there at the counter in
the kitchen. She broke down and he took her in his arms and held her as she
cried.
Why doesnt he want me! Brizee cried.
I dont know, baby, I dont know, Kevin said.
He doesnt even want his baby, Brizee said crying.
If he doesnt come around and take responsibility for the child, the guys
and I will take care of him, Kevin said.
I wish this was your baby, Kev, Brizee said.
I know, but its not, baby, Kevin said. Brizee cried and grabbed her
stomach.
Somethings wrong! Brizee cried. He took her to the hospital. He called
Nick while the doctor was examining her.
Brizee, Im sorry, I cant find a heartbeat, Dr. Kelly said.
What, Brizee said crying.
The baby is gone, Im sorry, Dr. Kelly said. Brizee started sobbing.
Kevin left the room and went to the waiting room and waited for Nick to show
up. Nick came in with Mandy.
What is the reason Im here, Nick said.
Brizee, Nick, she lost your baby, Kevin said.
What, Nick said sitting down.
Didnt think it would happen, did you, she was so upset that you walked
away that she broke down crying and had pains and I brought her here and Dr.
Kelly couldnt find a heartbeat, the baby is gone, Nick, she lost your
baby! Kevin said. Nick looked at him.
I didnt want that, Nick said.
I know you didnt, Nick, but you shouldnt have walked off, Kevin said.
So this is my fault! Nick said.
You should have been there for her, Nick, it was your child, you should
have been there for her instead of walking off and abandoning her, whatever
problems you have with Brizee, you should have at least been there for the
baby, but now the baby is gone, Brizee will never recover from this, Kevin
said. Nick looked at Mandy. She nodded and left. Nick sat there.
Where is she? Nick asked.
They are removing whats left of the baby, Kevin said.
Why am I so stupid, Nick said.
I divorced her to let her be with you, but you didnt want to be with her,
you moved on, Kevin said.
Kevin, Dr. Kelly said.
Yeah, Kevin said.
Shes resting now if you want to go in with her, Dr. Kelly said. Kevin
looked at Nick.
Can I go? Nick asked.
Go, Kevin said. Nick went to Brizees room and saw her asleep. He went in
and sat down and took her hand.

Chapter 27

Brizee woke up and looked around and saw that she was in a hospital room.
She felt someone holding her hand and she looked and saw Nick sitting there.
He saw her awake and stroked her hand. She pulled her hand away and turned
and faced away from him. He just sat there.
What are you doing here, Brizee said coldly.
Kevin called me, he told me that you were here, he told me you lost the
baby, Nick said.
Why should you care, you never cared that I was having your baby, you
didnt want anything to do with me, Brizee said.
Im sorry, I just wasnt thinking straight, I was so hurt from you going
back to Kevin, Briz, I loved you so much, I still do, if you give the
chance, I will make it up to you, Nick said.
Why should I, I wanted to be with you, but you didnt want me, Brizee
said.
I have always wanted you, Brizee, it was the hurt making me stay away from
you, it really hurt me when you went back to him, I wanted to be with you so
badly, I had the chance, but then Kevin comes back and everything is ruined,
I knew you wouldnt leave him because of your love for him, so I turned away
and said anything to stay away from you, but now I realize what I lost, I
know its my fault that you lost our baby, I dont want to lose you, Brizee,
I love you, I always have, Nick said. Brizee gently turned and faced him.
I love you, too, it was you I have always loved, Brizee said.
Can we be together, I dont want to be without you another minute, Nick
said.
Yes, Brizee said. He leaned forward and kissed her softly.
Im never letting you go again, no matter what, Nick said.
Good, Brizee said smiling. Kevin came in.
Are you two back together? Kevin asked.
Yeah, Nick said.
Good, Kevin said
Thank you, Kevin, for everything, Brizee said.
You deserve to be happy, I know Nick will make you happy, Kevin said.

Chapter 28

(Well, I did it again, once again, a dream! From the very beginning!)
Kevin stood at the doorway watching Brizee as she wrote notes for her
classes. He went in and closed the door and he looked around and locked it.
Hey baby, Kevin said.
Hey honey, Ill be done in a sec and we can go, Brizee said.
I need help with something, Kevin said.
In a minute, Brizee said.
Im in pain, baby, Kevin said. She looked up at him. He pulled her up and
picked her up and sat her on her desk.
Kev, honey, we should wait until we get home to do this! Brizee said as
he started unbuttoning her blouse.
This cant wait, Kevin said kissing her neck.
Kev, please, baby, I know you want me, but not here, I want to be home, in
our big huge bed, Brizee said.
Take care of this first, Kevin said pulling his pants down. She looked
down and saw his erection and she took it in her hands. She leaned down and
took him into her mouth and sucked. He closed his eyes and moaned softly.
She licked the tip and took him deep in her mouth. Her fingers slid around

We need to talk, Nick said.

the beach. Once out of sight from the rest of the beach, Nick pulled her
close. Brizee pulled back.
Nick, we have to stop, Brizee said pulling away.
I cant stop, Brizee, I want you all the time, Nick said pulling her
against him and kissing her neck.
Nick, I cant hurt Kevin, Brizee said.
You already have, Briz, we have been doing this for a year now, Nick said.

You always do this and we never stop, Nick said running his hands down and pulling her shirt up.

Nick, we have to, Kevin wanted me to go off birth control because he wants a baby, Brizee said.
And now is the time? Nick said.
Yeah, it takes awhile before I can try to get pregnant without birth
control, Brizee said.
So that time is now, Nick said.
Yes, it is, and I cant risk sleeping with you now and then getting
pregnant by you, Brizee said.
So what we had was nothing, Nick said.
I am married, Nick, I cant get pregnant by you, Brizee said.
Yeah, whatever, have a good life, Nick said.
Nick, come on, Brizee said.
No, forget it, we are done, I never want to talk to you ever again, I never want to see you, goodbye, Brizee, Nick said. He walked off. Brizeestood there watching him go.
